Current Lab Members

Dr. Sun is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, MN). She received her Ph.D. from North Dakota State University (Fargo, ND) and completed her postdoctoral training at Brown University (Providence, RI). During her free time, she enjoys hiking and running.

Former Lab Members

Will graduated in May 2024. He majored in both Biology and Psychology. His research project examined the lack of memory consolidation for attended information. Will’s hobbies include playing hockey at CSS, spending time at his cabin, and hanging out with his black lab Remi.

Ellie graduated in May 2023. Her research project examined how gender stereotypes affect career choices and salary expectations. Her hobbies include figure skating, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family.

Araya graduated in May 2023. Her research interests include child and adolescent psychology. During her free time, Araya enjoys kayaking, reading, painting, and spending time with her pets. 

Zanny graduated in December 2023. She majored in Psychology and minored in Gerontology. She started graduate school in the summer of 2024 for Occupational Therapy. In her free time, Zanny enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, spending time with friends and family, and other outdoor activities. 

Conrad graduated in December 2019. He majored in Psychology and minored in Biology. He is interested in the neural mechanisms of executive function and emotion regulation. During his free time, Conrad enjoys pondering on human nature, trekking in the backcountry,  adventuring in recondite countries, and spending time with family.  

Rosa graduated in May 2020. Rosa majored in Psychology and Spanish. She is interested in understanding the biological processes that underlie human cognition, such as selective attention and emotional regulation. During her free time, Rosa enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Claudina graduated in May 2021. She majored in Psychology and Sustainability Studies. She is interested in integrating psychology and sustainability to promote pro-environmental behavior. Her favorite hobbies include dancing and going on nature adventures.

Mallory graduated in May 2021. Her research interests include reasoning, problem solving, and cognitive training. In her free time, Mallory enjoys hanging out with friends, being at the lake, and playing with her dog, Bailey. 

Daya graduated in May 2022. She double-majored in Biology and Psychology as a pre-Med student. Her research interests include the effects of exercise and music. She enjoys hiking, traveling, being a member of the Track & Field team, and playing the flute.

Sydney graduated in May 2022. She majored in Psychology. She is interested in forensic psychology, including eyewitness testimonies and false memory, the relation between traumatic brain injuries and violence, and psychopathy. Her hobbies include traveling, spending time on the lake, and hanging out with friends and family.  

Abby graduated in May 2022. She majored in Psychology and minored in Political Science and Global, Cultural, and Language Studies. Her research project examined how emotion affects the decision-making process. In her free time, Abby enjoys playing with her dog, Benson, reading, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family.
